Samini, by his full name Emmanuel Andrews Sammini, is a Ghanaian artist born on December 22, 1981 in Accra. He gave his voice to the Sing For Africa project. Samini started singing in a church choir at the age of 14. His first studio album, Dankwasere, was released in 2004 and reached the top of the local music charts for weeks; he won two prizes at the Ghana Music Awards. He then embarked on a tour of the United Kingdom, Germany, Italy, Canada and the Netherlands. He was chosen as the male artist of the year in 2008 and earn international recognition for his numerous collaborations with foreign artists.
